The WISH - Our HANDMADE ETSY WEDDING - Dorana & Todd 12/26/2009

(Our Wedding Day featuring custom made gown by Etsy's cybersewingfairy.etsy.com, flowers by dkdesignshawaii.etsy.com, bouquet crystal jewels by 4classydesigns.etsy.com.)

I was thrilled to find a great Etsy Shop to make special personalized handkerchiefs as gifts for our parents and a special present for my new husband on our wedding day!

Linda from Etsy's EmbroiderybyLinda.etsy.com offered the PERFECT sentiments, fast shipping and the best customer service!

My mother cried at my personal message and proudly shared the story to the ladies at the spa during our pampering that morning

"Mom, thank you for teaching me the importance of corn, Uncle Buck, laughter and love.
Love, Dani 12-26-2009"

Linda's handkerchiefs were a perfect way to put into words what I have known since me and Todd's first vacation!

Shortly after Todd and I started seeing each other, we went on a mini vacation to Disney's Epcot Center. It's one of my favorite places as traveling has been such a big part of my life; imagine going around the world in a short afternoon!

In Morocco as we giggled over the silly genie lamps in the gift shop, a woman held one up and asked Todd,

"What would YOU wish for!?"

He looked over at me across the way and said,

"... To spend the rest of my life with that girl over there!"

I didn't think I could love him more than at that moment...

Waking up everyday in the beautiful house that we're making into our home in this dreamy historic town, hoping to start a family soon, I know that a wish was granted that day...

But it is EVERYDAY that he makes all of my dreams come true and I love him even more!

  1. I realized Pat was the one fairly early on - around Halloween (we started seeing each other in July), I hosted a party & we were just messing around with friends. I just remember looking over at him & getting that feeling, just ... knowing. :)

He's told me he knew for sure when for the first 3 months that we were together he couldn't even look at another girl. :P

    It's been almost 9 years now. ♥

  2. Interesting question!

I knew Adam was the one when all I wanted to do was spend time with him. I met him in late August and we were friends for about a year. We started dating in November of the following year. Since then it has been just us!!!

Our 10 year anniversary is right around the corner!

  3. I knew Wade was the one before I even got to see him in person. We're one of the internet success stories. We'd been talking as friends for about a year and a half before my senior prom came along. The week that prom tickets went on sale, I had gotten dumped by my then boyfriend. All of my other guy friends at the school already had dates/girlfriends and I didn't want to go to my senior prom by myself.

Wade had decided that he would skip his own senior prom, which was the same night as mine, and drive to NW Ohio from Indianapolis to be my date. Our parents talked it over and Wade had to come up in the morning the day of the prom and have lunch with my parents. When he got out of the car he was shaking so bad. My mom fell in love with him instantly.

Our first kiss happened when my mom left the kitchen and Wade very shyly asked if he could kiss me. So cute!

5 years later he proposed after I returned from a 4 month long study at the Duke Marine Lab. We'll be married for 3 years in June!
